Improve your Hyrox running pace 🔥 When you run at increasing paces, you’re training your body to become more efficient at handling race demands. Here’s how it works: 🧬 Lactate Clearance: By progressing from moderate to very hard efforts, you teach your body to process and clear lactate more effectively, so you can keep pushing without fatiguing too quickly. 🔋 Multi-Energy System Training: Starting at a moderate pace, moving to a hard effort, and finishing with a sprint helps activate multiple energy systems, building endurance and speed simultaneously. 🧠 Race-Ready Resilience: Practicing intensity shifts prepares you mentally and physically to handle Hyrox-style pace changes and finish strong. Here’s the Workout (7-min intervals): Aim for 3-6 rounds depending on your level 4:00 run at RPE 5-6 (moderate pace) 2:00 run at RPE 6-7 (moderately hard pace) 1:00 sprint at RPE 8-9 (very hard) Rest for 2 minutes between rounds This workout is straight from Week 7 of my 12-Week Hybrid Hyrox Program — designed to improve endurance, speed, and power for Hyrox athletes. Comment “123” to get access to the full plan for an entire year 🙌🏼💛 • • • • • #hyrox #hyroxtraining #running #interval #intervaltraining #cardio #sprinttraining #runmotivation #fitnessinspo #fitnesstips #gymmotivation #fitnesslover #functionalfitness

3 Threshold Runs to Podium in HYROX 🏁 If you want to stop blowing up halfway through the race, this is where the work is done. Threshold running is the engine room of HYROX performance. It teaches you to sit right on the edge hard, uncomfortable, but controlled so you can run fast without redlining before the sleds, lunges, or wall balls. Save this. These are staples in our podium-focused HYROX programs 👇 1️⃣ Broken Threshold Intervals Session: • 3–4 sets of: • 6 minutes @ threshold pace (roughly 10km race effort) • 90 seconds easy jog • 3–4 minutes easy jog between sets 2️⃣ Continuous Threshold Run Session: • 20–30 minutes continuous @ threshold • Last 5 minutes slightly faster if feeling strong 3️⃣ Threshold + Fatigue Carryover Session: • 10 minutes steady @ aerobic pace • 3 x 8 minutes @ threshold 2 minutes easy jog If HYROX is your goal and you want your running to finally match your engine in the gym, this is the work. Train smart. Train specific. And stop guessing. Apply for 1:1 HYROX coaching via the link in bio or DM HYROX 🧠🏃‍♂️

Here’s the truth ⬇️ I’m far from being the best runner and I do think it’s what I need to improve the most if I do another HYROX. (Like many of you out here). So here’s my best tips I follow myself and what I’ll focus more on training for my next race. 🏁 DURING race: 1️⃣ Do NOT get dragged into sprinting. Some guys and girls start/are REALLY fast and it’s easy to get carried away. But you don’t know if they’ll tank on station 2 or if you’re in the same wave as a podium king/queen, so stick to your pace! Specially the first 2/3 runs, take it easy. You can always go faster later if you’re still feeling fresh. 2️⃣ Take time to settle Treat the first 200 m of the run after each station as reset pace. Focus on your breathing and posture, only then build back to your pace. 🏁 BEFORE race (training): The main limiter in your runs is how well you can handle compromised running AFTER heavy functional stations. So focus on: 3️⃣ Training compromised running Alternate intervals of running with leg work. Teaches you to maintain pace under fatigue. 4️⃣ Zone 2 base: Do 1–2 weekly steady runs at conversational pace to build endurance. It’ll help keep HR lower during the race (and delay fatigue). 5️⃣ Threshold intervals Run 800–1000 m repeats at your lactate threshold pace (~10 km pace). Get used to the distance and test feeling how much you can push in that time while considering there’s a station right after 🤡 No one said it would be easy 🤣 but it sure is worth it! PS does anyone else think I look like a little happy penguin with my flag 🤣🤣 #hyroxme #hyroxworld #hyroxtraining #hyroxindia #hyrox #runningtips #runtips #runindubai #rundubai #running

This is how you get seriously fast at Hyrox! 💨 After 14 Hyrox races I’ve found these 3 intervals were the best to get me my goal times: 1. 800x800 🥵 One of the hardest runs you’ll ever do (it made my wife cry) 6 rounds of 800m @ Hyrox Pace 800m @ 1 minute slower 0 rest Example of my paces: 6x 800m @ 3:45km 800m @ 4:45km Why it works: You use that slower pace as your “recovery” & that simulates Hyrox. You need to get use to recovering on the stations, it’s a race where you’re always active. 2. 400x400 💨 The same format but faster 6x 400m @ 20 seconds faster than Hyrox pace 400m @ 1 minute slower Why it works: This is your speed workout. This will get you fast enough to make your Hyrox pace feel steady. You really want to push on this one. 3. Roxzone Run 🥇 This separates the good from the great. 1km warm up 4x 1.2k @ Hyrox Pace 60 seconds rest between rounds 1km cool down Why it works: This run simulates the Roxzone. In Hyrox you do 1km laps & around 200m of Roxzone each round. If you want a fast time you want to run that 200m. This perfectly simulation for race day. #hyroxrun #hyroxrunning #runningworkout #runningtips #hybridathlete

HYROX is 50% running, but most athletes don’t train like runners. They focus on sleds, burpees, and HYROX simulations. But ignore the one thing that makes the biggest difference: running. If you’re slow between stations, you’re losing minutes. The key? Train smarter. ✔️ Speed work to increase pace ✔️ Intervals to improve endurance ✔️ Long runs to build your engine ✔️ Hill sprints for power This is how you drop your HYROX time. If you want a structured plan to get faster, DM me “coaching” EASY. Why threshold training has changed my running and HYROX perf
97,447

Why threshold training has changed my running and HYROX performance ⬇️ HYROX is pretty much one big threshold grind. You’re sitting right on that red line the whole race 📈and not sprinting, but definitely not chilling either. It’s that uncomfortable zone where your body’s working hard to clear lactate just as fast as it’s building up 💦 It’s the same with 10km and half marathon racing too. The better your body gets at handling that “in-between” zone, the longer you can hold your faster pace without blowing up. Spending time training at my threshold pace (both running and on the ergs) has been one of the biggest things that’s helped me perform better on race day. It’s taught my body to handle fatigue, move efficiently under pressure, and hold my pace when it starts to hurt. Threshold sessions aren’t about going all out, they’re about finding that controlled discomfort, sitting just below your max, and teaching your body to stay there for longer. It’s not about pushing to the edge, it’s about learning where your edge is ✅ This shows up massively in HYROX races. Think about those stations like burpee broad jumps or the sleds where your heart rate is already high and the body starts to feel heavy but you still have to get straight back into a fast run. Training at threshold teaches your body how to recover while still moving, so instead of blowing up after every station, you can get back into rhythm quicker and keep your pace steady. That’s what separates a smooth race from a brutal one 💪 The more you train there, the better your body gets at buffering lactate, the quicker you recover, and the more consistent you become across the week. That’s where progress really happens when you can back up session after session without burning out or breaking down. If you want to get faster at HYROX, 10kms, or half marathons, threshold training needs to be part of your plan. It can suck at times but it works 💪 #hyrox #threshold #hybridtraining

HYROX is a running

1) Running is the priority (5 days/week) HYROX is a running event with work stations, not the other way around. • 2 long aerobic run (45–70 min, easy conversational pace) • 2 threshold/tempo run (20–40 min at comfortably hard) • 1 interval day (ex: 6–10 x 800m or 1k repeats) Optional: short easy run or compromised run day If you can’t run well, nothing else matters. 2) Resistance training = injury prevention + efficiency (2–3 days/week) This is where most CrossFitters overdo it. You don’t need constant high-skill, high-fatigue lifting. Focus on: • Squats, hinges, lunges, step-ups • Upper body pushing/pulling for wall balls, sleds, carries • Trunk and hip stability Moderate loads, clean reps, leave 2–3 reps in reserve. You should finish sessions feeling better, not wrecked. 3) Compromised running (1–2 days/week) This is where HYROX specificity lives. Examples: • 1k run → wall balls → 1k run • Run → sled push/pull → run • Run → lunges → run The goal isn’t to redline. It’s to learn how to settle your breathing and hold pace under fatigue. 4) What I’d remove • Random daily metcons • Maxing out lifts • Excess volume “just to sweat” If it doesn’t make you a better runner or more resilient, it’s noise. Bottom line: Run more than you think. Lift less than you think—but lift smart. Practice running tired. That’s how you show up to HYROX fit, healthy, and confident on race day. Let’s make you an individualized plan based on your Hyrox goals. DM “EDGE” or apply for coaching at the link in my bio
