This is one of my top tips for a quick quilt when you’re in a pinch! Patchwork. It’s simple, it’s timeless, it’s classic. #chefskiss But my absolute HACK to making patchwork quilts is to keep 5” (or whatever your preferred size square is) on hand. I have a full bin of 5” squares in all the colors of the rainbow. That way, when I need to make a quick quilt (like this baby quilt), a huge chunk of the work is already done! 💃🏻 A friend of mine is having a baby and is due any day so I’m trying to quickly make a baby quilt. However, she didn’t find out what she is having so I’m going to be making a girl quilt and a boy quilt!🙃 But I love her and am happy to do that! I’m sure you’re thinking, “procrastinate much?” and my answer would be “yes.” 😂😂 What can I say? I am what I am. ALSO, I love using the webbing method when piercing a patchwork quilt together. In fact, I have a step-by-step tutorial for this technique and I’ll send you the link to it! Love at the center 🩵 Patchwork quilts are so fun to make, but this one is a bit more special. The center block pieces were kept as whole as possible so this grandmother can be taken right back to those early days of motherhood when her girls were little. It’s a generational quilt filled with bits and pieces of memories and love. 💞

Make a 16 patch quilt with me! 🤩 I’ve had two jelly rolls sitting around for a while waiting for the perfect pattern and I decided it was time to use them in a 16 patch quilt = classic, fast and scrappy! And FYI - all seam allowances are 1/4” and seams should be pressed in the same direction for each section.
