✨Make 8 Half Square Triangles at ONCE?! Quilt Magic! 😍🧵 If you love quilting shortcuts that don’t skimp on accuracy, you’re going to love the Magic 8 Method for making Half Square Triangle (HST) blocks. It’s fast, fun, and super satisfying! In this video, you’ll see the whole step-by-step process: 1️⃣ Start with two fabric squares (same size!) 2️⃣ Place them right sides together 3️⃣ Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner (twice, making an X) 4️⃣ Sew ¼” on both sides of each line (4 seams total!) 5️⃣ Cut vertically, horizontally, and then along both diagonals — for a total of 4 cuts 6️⃣ Press your 8 new HSTs and trim… voilà! This is one of my top tips for a quick quilt when you’re in a pinch! Patchwork. It’s simple, it’s timeless, it’s classic. #chefskiss But my absolute HACK to making patchwork quilts is to keep 5” (or whatever your preferred size square is) on hand. I have a full bin of 5” squares in all the colors of the rainbow. That way, when I need to make a quick quilt (like this baby quilt), a huge chunk of the work is already done! 💃🏻 A friend of mine is having a baby and is due any day so I’m trying to quickly make a baby quilt. However, she didn’t find out what she is having so I’m going to be making a girl quilt and a boy quilt!🙃 But I love her and am happy to do that! I’m sure you’re thinking, “procrastinate much?” and my answer would be “yes.” 😂😂 What can I say? I am what I am. ALSO, I love using the webbing method when piercing a patchwork quilt together.
