Root shadow tips and tricks, save for info Root shadowing is not just a technique for correcting. When formulated correctly It can give a seamless blend and help your clients to go longer between appointments as it’s a more low maintenance colour. I like to use @originalmineral_uk Clean Liquids for a more sheer finish and Cør Colour if I want more depth. Think of Clean Liquids like a lip gloss and Cør Colour like a lipstick. ROOT BLENDING 🔽 A few tips to how I do my root blends. I find it easier splitting the hair into 2. Rather than working into 4 sections. Makes it less messy and easier to apply having one larger section. Use @hello.bleach smaller brushes if you want a more precise blend, or the large ones to get pure coverage. Using liquids for a sheer finish. CØR for full coverage. “If you have to shadow root you’re bad at hair”… a serious comment I got on one of my reels a while back. I DISAGREE. There are so many purposes a shadow root serves. I shadow root pretty much everyone. Why? Because it’s insurance why would I not? Sure there are so many times my teasing and the way I feathered my lightener up gives me the perfect blend.. but why would I risk it? I would rather go the extra mile and ensure my clients are super blended everywhere. How I do a root smudge/ shadow root for a low maintenance, blended blonde . I always use a demi permanent color so it won’t be completely opaque (you still want to see the highlights underneath, you just want them to have a “shadowed” effect). That way, it will fade over time (their hair will feel like it’s growing out a lot slower), and it will be no problem lifting through it when it’s time to bright their blonde up higher.
